Statement of Faith

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, is infallible in the original writings, and is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

God

We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; John 10:30; Col. 1:15-19; Heb. 1:3).

Jesus

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life of obedience to His Father, performed literal miracles, died on the cross, and shed His blood for the sins of the world. He rose form the dead and is at God’s right hand where He makes intercession for those who come to God. He will personally come again in power and glory. (Mat. 1:23; Mark 13:26; Luke 7:22; John 1:1-3,14; Rom. 5:8-9; Rom. 8:34; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Heb. 7:25; Heb. 4:15; John 20:30-31)

Holy Spirit

We believe the Spirit of God, the helper, dwells in believers, assures them that they are God’s children, reminds them of Jesus’ teaching, leads them into truth, and empowers them to obey His will. (John 14:17,26; Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:16; John 16:13, Ezekiel 36:27)

Man

We believe in the creation of man by a direct act of God and that by man’s own free will he chose to sin, and thereby became depraved and guilty before God, condemned to an eternity of separation from God. (Gen. 1:27; Gen.3; Ps. 51:5; Rom.1:21-23 , 3:23, 5:12, and 5:21)

Salvation

We believe in salvation uniquely by the substitutionary atonement of Christ by grace through faith in His shed blood to accomplish man’s redemption from sin and his reconciliation to God. (Rom 3:24-25; 5:9; Eph 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; Rom 5:10, John 14:6).

The Believer’s Position

We believe in the sonship of all born again believers into the family of God, their justification, sanctification, and eternal redemption being fully provided for and assured in the finished work of Christ on Calvary and in His continued intercession above. (John 1:12-13; Rom. 5:1, 8:14-18; Gal. 3:26 and 4:5-7; Eph. 1:13-14; Heb. 7:25; 2 Peter 2:9; 1 John 3:2 and 5:11-13).

The Resurrection

We believe in the eminent return of Jesus Christ to gather those who have accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. We believe that all mankind, both dead and alive, will be resurrected to stand before our Lord on judgment day. We believe that those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be recognized and accepted into heaven to live eternally in the presence of Jesus. We believe that those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be eternally separated from God. (Matt. 24:27-31 and 25:31-46; John 14:1-3; I Cor. 2:9; Phil. 2:9-11; I Thes. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15)

Great Commission

As a mission for all believers, given from Jesus Christ Himself as a final encouragement, we believe the Great Commission is a mandate that Christians not only preach the gospel around the world, but also make disciples by baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teach them to follow Christ’s example of love and servant hood. (Mark 16:15, Matt 28:19, Matt 3:16, John 21:19-22, Acts 1:8)

The Christian Life

As one family joined by Christ, we believe that our faith in Christ and His work for us requires obedience to His commandment to love the Lord our God with thoughtful dedication and faithfulness as well as always showing love to others in everything we do and helping one another do the same. (James 3:17, Matt 22:36-40, Heb 11:24-25)
